I know that it may have seemed recently that my life is just one big party, but to be honest.....
IT ACTUALLY IS!
IT ACTUALLY IS!
So here's an update on some more celebrations in my life!
1.) Sister Lewis's Birthday and Stacey's Promotion on Service Council

| Stacey! |
| Me and Ty! |
Ty and I both got Georgia Mud Fudge in honor of our sweet mother!
2.) My first real dinner party!
My sweet friends from high school, Darcee and Chelsea, both had so much going on in their lives, that I decided I needed to see them! So I invited them over for spaghetti and meatballs! I was so excited to see them!! And equally excited because that was the FIRST time that I have ever planned out a dinner and invited people over for it specifically -- all by myself! I felt so very grown up! :)
3.) Hare Krishna -- Festival of Colors!
I don't really know how to explain the Festival of Colors, but you kind find out more about it here or here! But aside from the history, here's what I thought.
I don't like getting dirty.
I don't like crowds.
And I especially don't like crowds of people throwing things at me to make me dirty.
So... Why did I go you ask?
I think the main reason I went, is because I felt the need to try new things and it was on my bucket list of things to do at BYU. With my time at BYU ending sooner rather than later, I decided to go for it!
It was really pretty to see all the colors flying everywhere! And it was fun to see the temple, and it was fun to hear the music (all about peace and love, and not like any genre I know). The singer kept saying things like:
"Can you feel that peace and love?! Can you feel it!"
"The whole world can be like this right now!"
"We could have heaven on Earth right now - can you feel it?! Bring it down here with us!"
and other inspirational things! It was awesome!!!
But the safety guy got on a few times to say things like:
"If you are under the influence of something other than the God given sense of peace and love you need to leave."
"We don't permit drugs and alcohol here, so please don't jeopardize us with that."
"Body surfing is okay, but make sure you don't throw them in the air!"
"Send the body surfers backward so people can see them to catch them."
and other similar safety tips.
The stuff about body surfers was probably pretty important to say, because from where I was I could see two or three of the body surfers flailing as they went headfirst towards the ground.
How exhilarating, I'm sure.
so overall.. I'm glad I went, but it's not really my thing for repeated exposure!
But party time should be ending soon, since finals are only weeks away and projects abound.

So.. posts may be scare in the coming weeks, but if anything SUPER exciting happens, as always, I'll let you know! :)

Wow, it looks like you were all under the influence of peace and love! Cute picture with your Mom!
ReplyDeleteFinals are only a week away!? Wow time flies! Glad your enjoying the good life my friend.
ReplyDeleteI liked the pretty purple splotches on your face and your pink hand. I went to that temple but just for a normal service for Sage's World Religion class. No paint was thrown so I'm jealous. :) klhjutyut 767 (That was from Aubrey)
