I got my new camera and..

I couldn't wait to take pictures of this sweet girl.

I think she was distressed at being left with me!
Some of my friends needed a ride to Sandy so I decided it would be the ideal weekend to babysit for Dawn and Bryan.  Camilla is such a cute baby, and she gets cuter the older she gets -- she also gets a lot more mobile each time I watch her, so it's quite an adventure.

This go around we played until she go bored with me, which was fine because it was bed time anyway.
So after feeding her a bottle, I went in to change her diaper and get her ready for bed.

I've found that if there is one thing Camilla hates, it's being on her back.  So you can imagine my distress when I tried to get through the layers to her diaper -- then take of her diaper and put a new one on.  It was rather traumatic for me, not her.  I would have her on her back, then go to find unfold the new diaper, and she be flipped over and ready to crawl right off the table. Then I'd flip her back over and have the diaper unfolded and start pulling one of tabs up to lock it in place.  I finally decided to one hand the diaper while I held her head in the crook of my elbow while I jabbered at her.  This seemed to work well and I finally got her diapered and pajamaed!

Then came the bed time struggle. She's so mobile and talkative that whenever I'd put her down Ty and I could hear her talking and talking - sometime whimpering.  I was determined to be the tough-love aunt and not go in and check on her unless she was crying (although I'll admit, I caved a number of times -- it's so nerve-wracking watching someone's child! )  But surprisingly, it was Uncle Ty who caved more often -- I walked in a couple of times to see Ty and Camilla having so much fun! One time he had her hysterical just by zipping up his jacket -- it was so sweet!

Ty spending time with Camilla.
She finally drifted off to sleep with her feet out of the crib.
Eventually Camilla went down to sleep, and Ty and I got down to business of watching Chopped. Which I must say makes me wish I had a television -- the Food Network would definitely be one of my number one channels! Get excited for more fun pictures cause they'll be coming!!!

  1. I do love that strawberry bum! And despite her nutso, crawl-off-the-table antics, she really does LOVE when you babysit so feel free to come up as many weekends as you want :)

  2. You are such a nice aunt Kelli. It sounds like you got it all figured out in the end despite the bumps. Mothers, for all our supposed innate knowledge, are just figuring it out as we go along. At least that it how I feel. :)
