Zzzz...

I was in class the other day and my professor said that he always enjoyed watching the students get worn down. At the beginning of the semester, students are always on the go -- there's a little bit of a bounce in their step. By the end students are sprawled out on anything soft. I thought this was kind of a funny exaggeration, but I'm seeing signs all over the place that my professor was right.
I was sitting in the basement of the JFSB, reading the newspaper when I heard some loud rumbling from a gentlemen across the way. Yes ... he was snoring. (Still is in fact, as I write this!) It was really funny to me, and then I started reading the letters to the editors. One reader complained in her letter that she doesn't like how people sleep in the bathroom in the library. Apparently people sleep on the comfy couches in there, and their snores are ruining her lavatory experience. This also made me laugh...
But then I realized... I'm one of those class-sleepers. I routinely fall asleep in some of my classes. Last year I had to get woken up, because one of the 5 people actually left in the auditorium FULL of PEOPLE took pity on me. This year, nothing quite so bad has happened.... UNLESS of course things are happening while I'm asleep. I mean you are unconscious .. .. .. Anything could be happening. Now all of my future naps will be restless -- not because I'm in a totally awkward position for sleeping, but because I'll be having nightmares about snoring or drooling. Or of people taking pictures of me, like I did with this poor snoring chap.

Anyway.. I guess its pretty obvious that I can't wait to go home and rest in peace.
ONLY NINE MORE DAYS!

  1. If you sleep in the wilc I do not think you would have to worry too much since it is kind of noisy there. If people slept enough at night they would not need to sleep on campus.

(Don't you think you should maybe blur his face a little in that picture? I guess he is not very identifiable as is though.)

  3. I still remember poking you to stay awake at the first aid lesson at the first year of girls camp...I'm glad to see things haven't changed!
