The Lewis Classic

As many of my faithful blog readers know I am majoring in Recreation Therapy. I've been a little worried about my lack of recreating with a major like this. I mean I'm pretty willing to do most sportsy things (except running, this pastime has never made sense to me -- although I totally support all of those many avid runners in their pursuits), but truth to tell my FAVORITE things to do involve sitting: 1.) reading, 2.) watching movies 3.) sleeping. So this break I was determined to do something recreational. Which is how the Lewis Classic came to be. After MANY scheduling conflicts I finally got my entire family (minus Dawn and Bryan who were stuck in Utah) to be part of the game! So here's how it went down:

It was a cold blustery winter's night outside the LDS Church on Seventh, but inside the gym was hot hot hot. The players from both teams started with a much-needed warm-up, which was good because some players claimed to have not played "in over six years," while others suggest that they "had never played basketball." The girls team, and the older males did some stretching since Toni Kelley helpfully shared the snapping your Achilles Tendon was the most common basketball injury in people over fifty. And then the real action started.

Male team veteran Scott Lewis was on fire all night. He pulled out his high school basketball shoes for the occasion and it was clear that he pulled some of his old moves too. He was pulling balls out of the air and graciously passing the ball to his teammates so that not all the points would be his. His highlight perhaps would be his jump shot, lay-up, rebound, assist, defense, coaching others abilities, and his uncanny resemblance of Jimmer Fredette.
Sage Kelley also performed well. He, who doubted the game would ever take place, was up for the challenge. His unending energy was amazing and he was always running up and down the court. Aside from his baby-sitting skills he also perfected the outside shot, scoring many a time when over the flailing arms of his defender.

Ty Lewis was also pretty outstanding. The first half he was ON FIRE. Having just returned from a mission in El Salvador where soccer is the common sport his basketball skill has actually pretty surprising. He was pretty fast and was able to be in the thick of things many times. He also had a pretty great outside shot and his defense wasn't too bad either.
Todd Lewis has never been much of a baller, but you wouldn't have been able to tell last night. He was shooting lay-ups and playing defense like nobodies business, but at the end of the 1st half his outside shot was HOT. You could tell this because he frequently yelled "I'm hot! I'm hot!" when looking for the ball.

Female team veteran Melinda "Nancy" Lewis was also pulling out moves only seen in her glory days. She was shooting lay-ups, and playing some pretty bomb defense on her husband. She was also really good at breathing deeply (she was joined by most all the players on the female team.) Her enthusiasm, team spirit, and point guard abilities were really a sight to behold.

Toni Kelley who was wearing a jersey from her work team showed that those weeks of practice at APEX really paid off. She had a sweet spot from the outside but this didn't stop her from driving tot he basket either. Her defense was amazing and she had a great cheerleader in Miss Aubrey Kelley who would often enter the court to be with her mom.

The winners celebrate the game winning point.
In the end the game came down to one point. Mostly because everyone was very tired and someone called out next point wins. The ball went back and forth from team to team with a notable glory attempt by Todd Lewis, but in the end the winners of the LEWIS CLASSIC were Team Melinda, Kelli, and Scott. You can tell that their victory meant a lot to them, while the losers had to pack their bags and go on home.

It was a lot of fun for everyone and I hope that we can do it again next year!

Jealous?

Today is a post about my roommate! I have thought about and realized that tons of people must be jealous, because I think roommates like this must be one in a million. For example, how many of you have had roommates that say: "Let's have a sleep-over?" Then get the blankets and pillows for you to have the best sleepover ever! So ladies, gentlemen, and faithful readers I am officially giving you permission to be jealous of a roommate like mine! And a sleepover like ours!

We're pretty proud of this picture, because there are not many 19 and 20 year olds that can really capture the-your-mom-comes-and-says-let's-take-a-picture-of-your-first-sleep-over feel quite as well as we did here.

We even have a song.. it's sort of a conglomeration of many songs so the tunes a little difficult to share, but the lyrics go something like this:
I like my roommate, She likes me.
We are so happy in our cubby.
One year older and wiser too.
You're sure happy for us aren't you?

Zzzz...

I was in class the other day and my professor said that he always enjoyed watching the students get worn down. At the beginning of the semester, students are always on the go -- there's a little bit of a bounce in their step. By the end students are sprawled out on anything soft. I thought this was kind of a funny exaggeration, but I'm seeing signs all over the place that my professor was right.
I was sitting in the basement of the JFSB, reading the newspaper when I heard some loud rumbling from a gentlemen across the way. Yes ... he was snoring. (Still is in fact, as I write this!) It was really funny to me, and then I started reading the letters to the editors. One reader complained in her letter that she doesn't like how people sleep in the bathroom in the library. Apparently people sleep on the comfy couches in there, and their snores are ruining her lavatory experience. This also made me laugh...
But then I realized... I'm one of those class-sleepers. I routinely fall asleep in some of my classes. Last year I had to get woken up, because one of the 5 people actually left in the auditorium FULL of PEOPLE took pity on me. This year, nothing quite so bad has happened.... UNLESS of course things are happening while I'm asleep. I mean you are unconscious .. .. .. Anything could be happening. Now all of my future naps will be restless -- not because I'm in a totally awkward position for sleeping, but because I'll be having nightmares about snoring or drooling. Or of people taking pictures of me, like I did with this poor snoring chap.

Anyway.. I guess its pretty obvious that I can't wait to go home and rest in peace.
ONLY NINE MORE DAYS!

I couldn't be more excited!

To My Russian Audience:

привет!
(Hello)

My life recently has been pretty crazy! I got to talk to my friend Alexa this evening and it was great! Her birthday is on Monday -- so wish her a good one! :)

Here's my Halloween recap!

Inspired by awesome sister Dawn and in serious need of a costume we went as a rainbow:

I met Barack Obama at a party.

And Chelsea got to give him a side hug!

My ADORABLE NIECE came over.
And here's a shout-out to my awesome sister TONI who made the cutest costume for my cutest niece to date! The cape -- handmade! She's a true inspiration of domesticity.

And I scared her by playing the big bad wolf
(who hasn't done hair or make-up in awhile... please forgive.)

But no worries -- we worked it out in the end:

And then on Halloween.. Stacey and I went as twins in sepia and black and white.

anyway.. пока

Wish I could Listen Now...

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZnLi24Lcx23-ygXV1yH5gDz249aUlaBgYycoc6-mbBX3mHRJCEI1NM8dl5M6PaBvP7JJng9d_msceAblirkSSri2i8pd-ryAWtr0xgT4PWwDkd9rVLtMY9OcwJgiAqP7Q1Eu7B8lB1EKu/s748/speak-now-cover.jpg

So it's here!
TAYLOR SWIFT'S NEW ALBUM SPEAK NOW!

I bought it this morning around 4:30. My brother and sisters can attest to this fact since I sent them an email at 4:51 a.m. telling them how much I loved it.

And I do love it. Her songs like her are amazing!
And this album sounds much different from her 1st and 2nd album, which in my opinion did not sound the same themselves. I just wish I could listen to it all day!

BUT I CAN'T.

Not because I'm too busy to have Taylor Swift plugged in my ear all day,
but because after I RAN across the parking lot to catch the bus,
I discovered my headphones have decided to quit working.

That means, that although I have a brand new amazing album loaded on my iPod,
I will be stuck reading my textbooks in silence.

I'm trying to see this as a good thing though -- I mean on a day like today
-- the day I've been waiting for for WEEKS (no joke ask my roommates) -- the day Speak Now actually comes out-- how can I be upset like a tiny thing like a headphone malfunction?

Two Steps Forward...

One Step Back.

So there I am raising my hand in class,
moving forward in my life, and then the next morning

I STABBED MYSELF WITH A FORK.

I was trying to remove some brownies from a poorly greased pan.

Most responses when I tell this story are something like:
"Don't you know that goes in your mouth not in your thumb?"
Or just plain laughter.

The wound looks to be about a 1/4" an inch deep.

I ran around frantically to find a Band-Aid before I missed the bus,
but I ended just using some toilet paper to stop the blood.
Ah.. the college life.

A Milestone...

http://www.lemonade3d.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/hand_raised.jpg

For the first time in my life,
I raised my hand in a college class
to make a comment.

I feel so FEARLESS!

This made sound pretty small and silly,
but let me tell you.. definitely a big deal!

My Snuggie!

I wore it to the game and did the wave. Just like the commercial.

I really really really love my Snuggie.

MY BROTHER COMES HOME!

FROM EL SALVADOR!

I'm so excited!

A MAJORLY Awesome Day!

Can you tell the difference between these two pictures:

What's this? You, too, can tell that the girl in the second picture is some how more confident? She looks like she has direction? You can tell that she is moving forward in her life? You can tell that she not long ago has peered out into the daunting future and decided to CARPE DIEM? You can tell just from that one picture that she has declared to the world that she would not be passed by, she has decided what effect she will have on the world and has moved forward to that goal!?

All that from just one picture. Whew.

So my exciting day has led me to talk about myself in the third person (obviously), but in case you couldn't tell from all that:

I HAVE OFFICIALLY DECLARED MY MAJOR!
YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE NEWEST RMYL
(recreation management and youth leadership)
THERAPEUTIC RECREATION EMPHASIS MAJOR!

so watch out world... i'm coming!

Right....

This was the helpful hint from my Daily Fitness Tip:

Find yourself constantly fighting cravings? Check your television intake. Commercial breaks are laden with food cues. Distract yourself with a phone call or some crunches.

Because I so often feel the need to do crunches when I have the munchies. Joke.

Another funny awkward moment of my day that has nothing to do with that.

This story is a little complex. There was a grad student standing in the office getting his computer worked on. There was a man in the doorway talking to my boss who happened to be in my closet/office. There was also a girl standing behind the man that was talking to my boss.
(Got all that?)

So my boss is talking to the gentlemen in my doorway, and I decide to talk to the girl behind him. There's kind of an awkward-too-many-conversations-at-the-same-time-in-a-5-foot-space vibe going on. But it all got worked out. So after all the commotion settled.. I apologized to my boss for kind of interrupting his conversation.

I say: "Sorry if I interrupted your conversation there."
My Boss says: "You did, and now we're going to talk about it."
(It might be necessary to explain that John is always threatening disciplinary action and it never actually happens.)
I say: "Oh man.. Okay.. This is terrible.."

Awkward Grad Students says into the silence:
"So I guess I'll just leave while you work out those ... issues."

I don't know why, but it was so funny.

This is really a filler post to say I'm alive.
I'll get some real stories and pictures up sometime SOON.

My Week One in Review!

WARNING: THIS IS A MARATHON POST.
PLEASE FORGIVE THE LENGTH, AND ENJOY!

Sunday
We got our first taste of living on our own! We (Chelsea, Stacey, Darcee, I) decided to start the tradition on making a big meal on Sundays and eating together. So we cooked some amazing spaghetti. (Not like mom's cookin' but still very decent.) We then started doing the dishes. We had quite a few dishes, so we decided to just fill a sink. A nameless member of our party put the plug in, filled the sink, and we washed our dishes in harmony. We go to empty the sink, when the nameless member of our party says: "Is there a trick to getting the plug out?" The reply: Nope just pull on the knob. . . ." " There is no knob." Yes you guessed it, the plug went knob side in and was pretty impossible to pull out. We eventually had to call in back-up:

Jose fixed us right up!
Very memorable, first time doing the dishes (for one of our party ;)) experience.

Monday
First Day of School!!! This was extremely exciting, because I only have two classes on Mondays and then work! So I headed out at 7:30ish with my fellow apartments and we hiked up to campus. My first class at 9:00 was Stats. The memorable story of the day happened in the middle of the Q&A about the syllabus. A boy raised his hand, and said "So I have a confession... I took this class winter, . . ." (and preceded to ask his question not relevant to the story). So embarrassing point number one: he failed stats once before already. Then the professor answered his question, and said: "Will you please stand up? Turn around for everyone, say hello. Everyone see that kid -- isn't that the ugliest hat you've ever seen?" (It was a Boston baseball cap.) number two: the professor has just made fun of him in a group of 800 students! At the end of class, I just by chance happened to walk out next the failing, ugly hat kid, and I hear him say to a fellow class-member: "I can't even take off my hat, cause I messed up cutting my hair and I have a bald spot." number three: the failing, ugly hat kid, can't cut his hair. I knew that however my day went from there it had to be better than his. I laughed a lot about this one.

The first day of school picture:

Tuesday
I went to my second class of the day, History 201, and I found some interesting discoveries. I hear my TA talking to one of my fellow students. "Hey man, welcome to class. {hand-shake with adoring eyes from my MALE TA} That was a great commercial you did. I saw it on the nightly news. In Georgia." (I'm little miffed at this point, shouldn't the man be sucking up to the TA?) But I look a little closer, and of course its the man featured in the following video:

I've learned quite a few things about him so far:
  • My TA has a man-crush on him
  • He is a senior
  • He speaks Spanish
  • He comes from a place where having no black-people, and everyone talking about their bishops is a major culture shock
  • He looks very strong
  • He likes to find Gospel analogies in history
  • He wears his hats with his ears tucked in
Also, I've never talked to him... he just likes to raise his hand a lot... :)

Wednesday
I'm not quite sure, what happened this day. But I do remember that one of my co-workers, told me, that I "think slower" than he does. But he does not believe that his is smarter than me. Somewhat offensive, but I just let it roll off my back. Office politics.

Thursday
I was in my abnormal psychology class, and we watched a movie called something like 'Madness: A History.' Pretty normal film about terrible treatment of people with mental illnesses. Until we get to the part where the lobotomy is discussed. Apparently, lobotomies are current enough to have video footage of an entire operation, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT CAME ON THE SCREEN. Totally disgusting. I had to look away. Trust me you would too if you saw pointy sticks being pounded into someone's eye sockets! Even my professor was looking away. But sentences like "Then they pound the pick another 4cm into the brain" still come floating out towards you. It was the grossest thing I think I've ever seen.

Friday
I decided that because it was the last day of the week, and because I only had two classes and no work, and because there was a long weekend that I would go FULL ON GIRL for the day. I looked GREAT. Problem: Part of full on girl is looking super cute! I let my vain side take over for a split second, and that's all it took for me to have the worst pair of shoes in the world on my feet as I left the apartment! After I got out of stats, I felt like I had blisters forming on the balls of my feet. I called my ever-amazing mother. She told me to put paper towels in the bottom of my feet. I did-so (trying to be as inconspicuous as possible... I mean .. who actually wants to be VISIBLE doing something like that?). It was a lifesaver. But my feet still hurt. A LOT. In between classes, I ate lunch (and was gawked at by a BYU-golf-cart-tour...), and went to the Marriott Center to pick up my All-Sports-Pass. It was at that point that I turned to my emergency plan. I called Toni, and she being the BEST sister in the WORLD agreed to pick me up and take me home. My feet and myself couldn't be more grateful for her unselfishness!

(My discreetly paper-toweled foot...)

For those looking for an awkward laugh: After I went to the Marriott (it was 90 degrees FYI), I went straight to class. It was hot, and I was SWEAT-Y! There was this girl sitting in front of me. She turned around and was sort of looking around and sniffing. I WAS SO EMBARRASSED thinking that I was the reason for her to be sniffing out the nasty stench. Turned out though, that she just had a serious cold. I observed her sniffing away when she was up front as well, so don't worry. It was just me that was self-concious without need (I think).

Overall it was a super great week, and I'm excited to start the next one!

Good News

I'm back in the blogging world and I decided to put up some things that are currently going right in my world! Here it goes:
  • Taylor Swift has a new album coming out in October and the video for her new single came out YESTERDAY, and I liked it!
  • I'm all moved into my new apartment. For the most part its great!
  • I like my new roommates, although I hardly know them.
  • It's raining, and I don't mind. (miracle)
  • My niece is the cutest, and I get to live very close to her for the next 8 months! (Also my sister and her husband, and my other sister and her husband!)
  • My brother is coming home in almost exactly ONE MONTH! (Sept. 30)
  • I have reliable internet, so I can blog again!
  • many more that will not be named (because I'm feeling lazy)
And for those that would like pictures of my summer adventures, I'll throw you a bone:

New York:

Yes, that is me eating a big apple IN the Big Apple!
(It was a very delicious apple I might add, thanks to Chelsea for the idea!)

Bomber Mountain:

This us, after a short jaunt up a steep cliff with some wreckage from a WWII plane that crashed in the Cloud Peak Wilderness area. I'll be your tour guide anytime you need! :)

I have no pictures of the Rockies Game quite yet, but that was another adventure I went on!

And now.. I'm starting school again so I think I'll have plenty to blog about, so no need to worry about another sabbatical from blogging!

Todd ... Jeff Probst?

Todd has asked for a 'Jeff Probst shirt' for the past couple of gift-giving events. We weren't really sure what he met, but for his 17th birthday we happened upon it! Let me just say it was really a great find! After we gave it to him, we just wanted to check how close we were to the actual Jeff Probst ....

Exhibit B:

Pretty PERFECT huh?

Brandin' the Calves!

Today, I knew I was home. We went out to brand some of my grandpa's calves! It was a pretty good morning and we got a lot of calves branded, banded (for those that know what that is ... there are no pictures!), and ear-tagged! Its quite an adventure and I'm pretty sure one that not many people get to undertake! So I've documented the ENTIRE EXPERIENCE for you ---- PLEASE BE WARNED. As many of you know there is a Adult Content Warning to get in here, but my warning for this post is that this one may not be suitable for animal-lovers. It's a little graphic if you've never seen it before!
I've followed this little cow through the process -- I've named her May-belle!

Step 1: Divide the cows! This actually turned out to be a little bit of a challenge because my grandpa had less than medicore help -- Todd and myself --- so there was quite the learning curve. There was also a difference of opinion between the farmer of more than 50 years and my dad so that took a few minutes to correct as well!

Step 2: Load the cows into the shoot! This was mostly Todd's job, and he was kicked a couple of times by some the feisty cows! He toughed it out though, and ended up being a big help!
Step 3: Vaccinate! My dad tried to pass this job off to me, but I refused. I know that's terrible, but just the thought of sticking a needle into the cow was too much! I'm okay watching all this, but actually doing it was an ENTIRELY different thing! So I settled for filling the syringe, and made my dad do the sticking the needle in part.

Step 4: Notch off the ears. I'm not sure why this is done, but it is done. And it's gross. I did learn however that I have nail polish that EXACTLY matches cows blood... if anybody's interested! My dad did this part as well.

Step 5: Banding ... You do this to make little boy cows ... little it cows. I did not take any pictures of the de-manning of the cows however so I'll let you use your imagination!

Step 6: BRANDING! This part is pretty terrible, but necessary to make sure your cows stay your cows even if they're lost or anything. It involves taking a hot piece of metal and sticking it on the side of the cow and searing the brand onto their skin. It smells terrible, and must hurt even more. I'm not such a fan of watching, but it has to be done. Todd would hold the front leg to prevent it from kicking(?) and my dad would do the branding. The worst part is when they move around and have to be stuck a couple of times to make sure the brand is really put on.

The final product:

Step 7: FREEDOM! We release the cows to their mommas and comfort! A few were pretty dazed but little May-belle just ran as fast as she could!

A few memorable side stories. Todd was not a fan of the feisty cows. There was one cow in particular that Todd disliked. His quote about the cow: "It kicked me, it head-butted me, and then it crapped on the table." It was very funny how he said it.
My dad was angry when Todd and I accidently let a cow escape (although how we were supposed to stop it when we looked over just in time to see its little legs kick through the fence I'm not real sure). So instead of waiting till we were done with everything else he just went after the cow. He was walking real slowly up to the calf as it was nursing. Then he lunged for the cow out of NO WHERE! He grabbed for it and came up with the calf's back leg, he then preceded to drag the calf the 100 yards back to the coral. The momma cow followed almost the whole way; she seemed pretty upset. It was really sad to watch... I didn't like that part at all.

Please note the conquered cows in the background!
Over all it was a pretty good day, and I'm glad we were able to help!

I thought I would also add this, because it makes me laugh. My dad found a cowboy hat, and was wearing it .. maybe to cowboy up before our big event?

School's Out!

So.. I finished my finals and I finished my freshmen year at BYU! If I can say so myself .. it was a successful year! I'm sort of sad to be gone actually, because as soon as the sun come so did the people! I made WAY more friends the last 2 months of school than the whole beginning of the year! We had a little photo shoot the last Sunday of school! These are the some of the ladies that I've spent my year with!

These ladies right here are some of girls that I have gotten to know a lot better these last couple of months. They really the greatest girls and have been really great people to have around!

Now I'm home however, and while I LOVE IT -- I think I'm going a little stir-crazy! There is so much not to do that I don't even now what to do with myself. .. . Any ideas?

International Relations

No this isn't my newest major choice, but it is how I spent my evening! We had the honor of having General David H. Petreaus come to speak at our campus tonight.

(I chose this picture because he smiled a lot)

I can't tell you all that he talked about because to tell the truth I don't understand ALL OF THE COMPLEX issues of Central Command (which is the Middle East basically I was informed tonight), but I can tell you my impressions of David Petreaus, because honestly I'm sure that's what you all care about. :)

My defining quote from David Petreaus would have to be what he said at the beginning: "I try not to take myself seriously, but I do take my work seriously" (this is what I wrote down, but just know that I wasn't recording it or anything .. so it could be less than exact). To explain this quote he was very down to Earth about himself and his beginning remarks were complimentary to everyone on the stand (which included the Governor as well). He was also very funny about LDS culture. He then took questions from the audience and he answered them pretty well (side-stepping only a few), and in a way that was easily understandable.

I was very impressed with him over all, and I like his ideas about the war and how its going. It was a really cool experience, knowing that I was in the same room (after an hour and a half wait by the way) with a man vital to this country, and someone that actually talks to President Obama -- regularly! This is one reason I'm glad to be at BYU -- there are really a lot of opportunities here!

To end with -- Here are my favorites from his list of
Top 10 Reasons Mormons Make Good Soldiers

- They have no problems switching to army rations, they've been raised on shredded carrots and green Jell-o
- They are the most reliable designated drivers
- They never go AWOL -- they prefer the term less active
(my favorite) - They have no problem building a base, you simply need to get a cane and say with a loud voice: THIS IS THE PLACE
(there were more, but I can't remember them all...)

I'm a HERO!

It is unprecedented I know -- TWO POSTS IN TWO DAYS -- but I just had to share.

I DONATED BLOOD!

If anyone remembers, last year I tried to donate blood. I was so so so so excited all day! I practiced my squeezing motion, I drank enough, and I slept enough. I was totally prepared.
But I didn't have enough iron.

I was so disappointed, I nearly started crying no joke.

BUT MY DAYS OF BEING IRON DEFICIENT ARE APPARENTLY OVER.
I am now a spinach eater, which apparently is packed with iron! WOOHOO! So today spur of the moment I checked to see if they had a time, then they said yes. Then I filled out my questionnaire, passed all their tests, and went crazy!

Please notice the sign that says: I make a difference!

Not only did I donate blood, but I did it FAST! My time was 4:18 flat. I was told and I quote:
"4:18 is fast, especially for a girl." When I was comparing times with my guy friends afterwards --- I had them beat.. just saying...

Life Lately

I haven't updated in a while, because I've been so busy that I didn't realize I actually had fun things to blog about for a change! So here's a super fast update, on the fun things that I've been doing!

It was my sister's birthday (and since she's been such an amazing sister who's been taking care of me so much in my first year away from home -- and being my friend -- and having such a cute daughter -- and an open house -- and making me home-cooked meals that I like --- basically because she's just a generally awesome person) so I made her this charming cake. I'm becoming quite a pro at cake making in a dorm kitchenette -- if you need any tips.

I went to a dance with some lovely ladies, including Miss Stacey McKnight who is pictured above! (We didn't even match on purpose!) It was a luau in fact -- a seasonal depression luau actually. It was such a great time, because the dreary weather and homesickness are really depressing in the months of February and March.

At the dance there was a fire-dancer! It was super cool, including when he dropped his rod of fire on people TWICE -- ON ACCIDENT! (They were fine though so it was still cool!)

And finally today, on stake conference day we encouraged everyone in our ward to wear blue. I don't know how it came about but it super fun! We took hall pictures with as many people as we could find so that was fun as well!

Also one last thing I've been up to lately:

I've never lived in a big enough town to have an all waffle place in it. So I took advantage of my time in Provo, and went to Denny's at 3:00 a.m. It turned out to be closer to like ... 3:15 though because getting up was sort of a challenge (thanks stacey for waking me up! <3)>

Apartment!

It has been a long and stressful journey, but thankfully I have endured and made it through!

We started out trying to get into Regency Apartments, which we loved! But alas, Regency did not want us. We went that morning bright and early after putting all our hopes and dreams into getting in.

Stacey and Cammie excited at the Regency Lottery Drawing:
We went, and left without an apartment and without much chance of getting one.

We moved onto Plan B(etter) and we went to or called about a million places. Space was limited, so we finally finally narrowed it down with a
chart and some check marks. It was very exciting, and all that, but a very very very long process. So we went on our last apartment hunting trip today, and it was successful!

We went to a place we've
been eyeing and after a weird experience with the management and overall not excited vibe.
We went and signed at the other place we've been looking at!

AND NOW....

I am the proud new renter of #21!

These are the lovely ladies I will be living with in front of our new apartment:

And here we are with our contracts and deposit receipts.
